Quality or Quantity ?

Often phpnuke publishers talk about how many members a website has,but in reality having many members isnt important at all !
If you run a website with a very active forum you can score enough in the search engines.
Content is important,not any duplicate stuff like i wrote HERE .
Publishing about sites that have 30,40,or even 80.000 members has absolutely no value.
If you create a website,release a great module and put it in your downloads and set it to registered only then your registrations go skyhigh..(if your lucky).
After some months the traffic drops,then you can say...wow i have 25.000 members,150 topics in your forum....and thats it..
95% of all websites (including the big ones) only see 30 upto 75 members online.
So did you ever wondered where the rest is ?
They never came back..
So you see,quantity doesnt count , quality does .

I have always wondered why a nuke website is measured by its registered members. I personally think content < members anyday. I preach it!

I do however require

Registration of some sort due to the growing # of freaking

SPAM bots! I hate them. Its cause me many problems here recently. As a result I have had to captcha nearly everything. Still that may not be the end of it as technology only grows.

indeed floppy : hitwalker

indeed floppy..hard to ignore those bots huh...but i tried to focus on the fact that many news items like to show off with the total members the site has,as we often can read.. smilies/grin.gif
